Wood vs. Vinyl Fencing

When choosing fencing for your property, to enclose your privacy or simply enhance your outdoor experience in the summer time, choosing between wood or vinyl is something our customers come across so we will detail the differences with the two kinds in this article.  Roark fencing offers high quality wood fencing, the materials we select for vinyl fencing are superior and our prices are fair and competitive for all styles.

If you are shopping around for a wood fence quote or a vinyl fence quote from a fencing company in Lexington and around Central Kentucky, we challenge you to call Roark Fencing with your competitive rate and let us see if we can beat it – we’re able to beat a competitor’s price on wood and vinyl fencing in most cases.  Call us today for a FREE on site estimate.859-983-0269

The difference between a wood fence versus a vinyl fence are the following, but really it boils down to your personal taste.  Vinyl fencing uses high quality material which can obviously be more costly to the consumer (even though Roark offers extremely competitive prices all the time!) however, with this “upfront” cost in choosing vinyl, there is virtually no long term maintenance costs.  Also if you choose a “privacy” style fence with the vinyl, this can impact the price point dramatically because the privacy fence style in vinyl simply uses more material than an open fence style.  The life cycle of a vinyl fence can be a lot longer when compared to wood fencing, given your particular circumstances or environment.  Vinyl fencing is also designed to assemble easily, so your total time from start to finish could be marginally quicker than Roark installing a wood fence.

Depending on your neighborhood, your tastes and your HOA rules, wood fencing is the more popular choice, when you “run the numbers”.  Roark Fencing uses only the highest quality new MCQ (Micronized Copper Quaternar) pressure treated southern yellow pine, and true western red cedar for our wood fences.  Wood Fencing is offered in the above high quality types of wood, as well as in different styles such as scalloped or arched (see photos below).  When you hire Roark as your fencing company you have the option to stain your wood fence for added protection and color enhancement
